An article on www.marinij.com indicates that Transformers: ‘Bumblebee’ shoot, a.k.a. ‘Brighton Falls,’ launches in San Rafael.
Paramount Pictures has begun work on its newest action film, “Transformers Universe: Bumblebee,” in a quiet residential neighborhood in the Peacock Gap area of San Rafael.
The film shoot for “Bumblebee,” code-named “Brighton Falls,” was surrounded by heavy security Tuesday, including San Rafael Police Department officers and Paramount vans and trucks.

At the same time, the Peacock Gap neighborhood is also the current shoot location for the second season of “13 Reasons Why,” a Netflix series revolving around the issue of teen suicide. A house in the neighborhood was blocked off by security vans on Tuesday. Other episodes were shot at and around San Rafael High School earlier this summer.
Meanwhile, Zachary Quemore, assistant location manager for Paramount, declined to say how long the film crew for “Brighton Falls,” a.k.a. “Bumblebee,” would be in town shooting at the set.
“I have no idea,” Quemore said, referring all other questions to Paramount officials.
The set, said by San Rafael city personnel to be a facade of a house, was built earlier this year on an open lot at the end of a cul de sac overlooking the San Pablo Bay.
Access to the set was not available, Quemore said.
The film, directed by Travis Knight and starring Hailee Steinfeld and Jorge Lendeborg Jr., is scheduled for a June 8, 2018, release, according to the online blog Omega Underground.
It is a prequel to the “Transformers” series and deals with Bumblebee, a robot car — or autobot — in his formative early years on Earth.
In other Paramount news, the online blog Refinery29 reports that the second season of “13 Reasons Why” will deal with recovery and healing from trauma. The first season drew concern and controversy from parents and educators that the show was glorifying suicide.
