Via Action Robo on Facebook and our sponsors TFSource, we are able to share a report that the next Masterpiece is apparently a redeco of Beast Wars Optimus Primal. Details are sketchy, but according to the solicit which Action Robo has posted on their Facebook, MP-38 is called “Convoy (Beast Wars) Supreme Commander version” (literal translation: Legend of General Commander version). Supreme Commander is a title which was often given to the leader of any given group of heroes in the Japanese Transformers series, and given the pricing is in line with the previous Masterpiece Optimus Primal, a redeco seems likely. There’s some speculation that this might be the “Burning Convoy” version shown in the Beast Wars Second: Lioconvoy’s Crisis movie, however we’d expect such a version to have a more straightforward name such as “Burning Justice version”.
So what could this “Supreme Commander” Beast Convoy be? Your guess is as good as ours, although the original Beast Wars Convoy had many redecos in Japan, including blue and clear versions, so anything is possible, if this report proves truthful.
