As SDCC gets under way tonight with preview night, the first bit of news this evening comes to us from ThreeA (3A), who have announced their officially licensed line of Generation 1-inspired figures via their website. The TFG1 line is aptly being kicked off with a statue of none other than Optimus Prime. In addition to the line’s announcement, 3A have also posted pictures of said Optimus figure in the sketching phase, prototyping phase, and the final product itself. Planned repaints include an Ultra Magnus edition and a Nemesis Prime edition.
Optimus Prime stands at approximately 16 inches (40 cm) tall and features full articulation (including full articulated fingers), diecast parts, LEDs in the eyes, insignia, and matrix, opening windshield panels, an Energon ax, his signature Ion Blaster, and magnetically detachable tires and tankard grenades. Optimus, Ultra Magnus, and Nemesis Prime will all be available for pre-order in Q3 2016, so keep your eyes peeled for listings!
